Conditioning
Dynamic conditioning is a training system recognized
by the health profession and athletes as the most advanced
form of total body conditioning available. It is a unique system
of equipment and exercises including strength, flexibility,
body control, and integration awareness that incorporates proven
training principles to develop, maximize and promote proprioceptive
intelligence. Created by Dr. Edythe Heus and Marv Marinovich
(former coach of the NFL Raiders) the program is the result
of their 45 years of combined research and experience
in testing and training over 5,000 professional athletes.
Engage Your Nervous System
Proprioception, the ability of the brain to know where the body
is in space, is the most vital aspect of any fitness program.
Proprioceptive Intelligence is intelligence necessary to
stretch and strengthen muscles and ligaments for achieving maximum
flexibility, joint articulation, stamina, balance, neuromuscular
coordination, increased circulation (Cerebral spinal fluid,
lymph, blood) and stress reduction. All movement-from autonomic
nervous system motion, such as breathing to the more complex
activities in sports and dance, occurs through proprioceptive
intelligence. A person who has high proprioceptive intelligence
can most effectively integrate, coordinated, and utilize motion.
Never Caught Off Balance
Through the revolutionary concept of performing full
range of motion exercises in "suspended balance" Marinovich's/Heus'
dynamic conditioning now makes it possible to train proprioceptive
intelligence to its highest level. This "suspended balance"
system develops and maintains the antigravity muscles
located in the torso, the core stabilization, micro muscles
located on the spine and creates peak nervous system proficiency.
The exercises, structured to develop the body in a way most
beneficial to maintaining health and eliminating injury
are performed through a progressive series of carefully developed
sequences each centered around a specific muscular area
and function.
As an example, exercises that emphasize the muscles that secure
the shoulder blade to the torso are done early in the
sequence to maximize on the stability of the pectoral girdle.
This stability provides an optimal foundation for the
development and use of the shoulder muscles. This revolutionary
approach to enhanced athletic ability has yielded unprecedented
results. The benefits are immediate and translate directly
into improved coordination, structural alignment and vitality
in ways never before seen.
Traditional weight training protocols are oblivious to this
essential element leading to depreciation in performance
capabilities and injury.
Our appreciation of the importance of stretching a muscle before
strengthening has resulted in the development of what
we call DYNAMIC CONDITIONING. During this part of our program,
all muscles are stretched prior to each contraction. This
stimulates the joints, their connective tissues and the
muscles surrounding them, resulting in joint stabilization and
joint proproiception. This dynamic conditioning, in abbreviated
form serves as a warm-up prior to games, resetting muscle
balance after, or restoration after injury or overuse.
We have had to modify, adapt and develop apparatus and equipment
to vary resistance's and stresses to achieve our training
goals. To be competitive in the 21st century, every athlete,
regardless of natural ability and productivity needs this
system. No athlete is too fast, too agile, too explosive,
in too good condition or too mentally tough.
As you can see from this brief overview of our program, we have
made enormous advancements in the field of athletic performance.
We have the future of training NOW.
